Today Alexis spoke a full sentence, "快点下来,会跌倒”.Of course her pronounciation is muffled, but its so cute seeing her giving warning to her sister who was standing on top of a chair. Cooked stewed chicken wings for lunch and Alyssa went "good good", showing her thumb up action. Feel so proud of myself everytime she does that. hehe I have already thought of what to cook for dinner. Life as a semi housewife is rather fulfilling. At least I spend alot of time with the kids and seeing them grow and learning new things is something that cannot be exchanged with money. I missed the opportunity of seeing Alyssa do alot of things, her first sentence, her first walk etc. Now I am trying to gain all these back through Alexis. I would say its such a wonderful experience being a mother. Alyssa seems to be back to liking school again. Probably she has a good day in school.
Was raining just now when I was supposed to pick up Alyssa. Luckily Alexis was sleeping so I quickly slip out of the house to pick Alyssa up. Was very fortunate Alexis was still having her beauty sleep when we are back and we even get to have our lunch in peace. Now both of the kids are quarreling and playing together. They cant make up their mind whether they love or hate each other hehe. But I suppose they do love each other. Alexis will always ask for her sis when she wakes up and Alyssa will ask after Alexis too when she comes back from school. I would like them to be close and loving towards each other even after they grows up. Love between sisters are rather precious and important. Too bad I dun have a sister, just a brother whom I have sort of drifted apart while we grows up. Maybe that's the price of growing up.

Yesterday, Philip and I brought the 2 kids to Campass Point, intending to have dinner at the Soup Restaurant. Upon reaching there at around 6.30, we found that the queue for a seat was at least 2 metres long and we would probably have to wait for at least 30mins. Eventually we decided to go for other food and settled on "Captain Cook". I ordered Captain's special which is rather oily since all the fish, chicken and prawn are fried with batter. After having that, my tummy feel so bloated. Probably too used to healthy homecooked food, my tummy refuse to accept oily unhealthy stuff. Philip took the butter fish without knowing that it cost around 4 dollars more than dory and the worse part is that it is not as tasty as dory. The fish is a little too fishy for his liking. Anyway we had a very unsatisfactory dinner.
We went to the kids' grandma house (philip's mom) after dinner. Alyssa got to play with Xian Hui while Alexis cling to me, yes like a koala bear again. Anyway, Philip's elder brother came home with plenty of fishes and mangoes and dried cuttlefish to distribute from his trip to Malaysia. So, I wont have to buy any fishes for the next 2 weeks at least. :)
Ok Now got to go clean up Alexis. I think I smell something foul. *sigh* must be her Poo Poo.

Finally joined Huileng's playgroup at Maysprings after missing so many sessions. I have wanted to join but had been unable to due to tuition schedule etc. Finally after Alyssa is having lesson in school, I can travel to Bukit Panjang. Too bad I dun drive (failed 2 times, still hoping...), or else the trip could have been shorter and more comfortable. Not that I am complaining since the trip is only half an hour with 171 bus direct. I was glad to join the playgroup even though before I was abit lazy thinking about the trip. Alexis was quite clingy to me for almost 45 min, then she started to warm up abit but still refusing to leave me more then 30cm away. I am optimistic that by the 2nd or 3rd sessions, she would be joining the kids. Its quite a nice experience socialising with the other stay at home moms, even once a week is great. I feel so alone sometimes especially these 2 weeks when I face the kids almost the whole day and Philip seldoms come back early. I really crave for some conversation that is not kiddish. Expecting Philip to be back for dinner tonite. Really sort of enjoying these days when he can come back early. I will miss it when he goes back full steam after reservist. Sometimes really hope we can migrate or he get a job, maybe in Australia for a couple of years. At least get some family life back. :P

Alyssa finally went to school on the 21st March. Since it's her first day, I was with her for the whole 4 hour session. Pretty tiring, since I was so worried I might wake up late, I actually woke up at 6am, and in between I was half asleep and half awake. I even dreamt that I was late bringing Alyssa to school! Anyway, she was pretty scared at first, but after 2 or 3 hours, she seem to have relaxed and I managed to stay away from her sight for like 10 minutes in a stretch without her noticing even. Luckily for me, Alyssa managed to get oriented pretty quickly, probably due to the fact that she was brought to the student care pretty often previously so she managed to get into the "schooling" mood quite fast. So she has gone to school for 3 days now, 2 days on her own by school bus. At least with only Alexis to handle in the morning, I am able to do some household chores. I just need to put Alexis in front of Barney the show and I am able to spend around 50min doing mopping of the floor. Poor Alexis had a slight fever for the past 2 days, but today seem to have recovered (keeping my fingers cross). The weather is so hot recently that the kids are having bad tempers, including me too.
Rented a few vcds but the joke is din get to watch any, really wasted the money. Philip was so happy yesterday because for the first time after so many months he is able to be sitting at home enjoying home cooked food at 6.30pm. For this week and next, he is able to come home early because he is having reservist and it happen to be just going to camp and no field trip. I think the kids also feel happy seeing him back home early. Especially Alyssa will ask about daddy every night before she goes to sleep.
After looking after Alexis everyday for the past 1 1/2 weeks, she seems to stick to me. I am enjoying the new attention though sometimes it can be quite tiring when I am supposed to cook and she wants me to carry her. Probably due to her fever and sometimes the noise generated from outside renovation work, she will be rather clingy. Somehow I am starting to enjoy this homemaker type of life, that maybe I might end up not even doing part time tutoring. hehe

Phew what a hot day this is....got to switch on the air con for the two pampered princesses so that they can nap. Yesterday, I finally booked the air tickets to Bangkok. Was thinking of going on the 10th April then hesitated and when I finally decided, the 10th April ticket is gone :( What to expect when the fare is only $98 for SIA. Even the Bangkok ticket took me more than 10 tries before I can confirm my booking. But it's good value for money, now have to wait for the booking of the hotel to be confirmed then I would be able to book for the sightseeing tours and airport pickup service. Wow, finally, really going for a trip! I think Alyssa will be thrilled, this time we will be going to the national park, then we get to ride on the elephant and ox cart! Even I am getting excited just thinking about the trip!
Today during lunch, Alexis pick up a little cube of tofu and put it infront of her nose as though she is sniffing it, then she said , " Hmmm, 好香" of course her pronounciation is not very good but alyssa and me both laughed.
Alyssa is getting very creative nowadays. She will cut up pieces of paper (once my credit card bill but I salvaged it before it was disintegrated) and then use glue to glue them together to pretend they are things like today she made an "Air Ticket". She loves art and craft, she will pester me to teach her handicraft work everyday. Thank god for the preschooler website,
www.crayola.com and www.dltk-teach.com, I am able to come up with craft work very quickly.
Just now when Alyssa pointed to the Alphabet "L" on the rubber Mat and read it out, I was very surprised as I havent got to that letter yet. I am still at the Alphabet "F", but apparently "Barney" the purple dinosaur taught her that letter. She was also able to read 2 or 3 other letters. I think sometimes its good to let the kids watch the educational vcds, not for too long though. I would restrict the time to max 1 hr, occasionally 2 hrs consecutively if I really havent finished the housework and I dun want the kids to run around without monitoring. Even Alexis is able to sing the "ABC" alphabet song.
Today the "Cozy Coupe" and rocking dino finally got delivered. Even though they are second hand but they are in quite good condition. I think the kids will be wild. I am thinking of getting a playhouse, a slide or swing too. OH no, I am making this house into some kind of tiny child care *ROFL* Since I am going to look after them most of the time, except half day on mon and sat, I thought it would be better if this place have more things to do. THat also means sometimes I get to be on my own a while. (sound rather selfish :P) Got to go and prepare dinner. BOth the kids will wake up at around 5 + and alexis will definitely want her food at around 5 30pm. Wait till they wake up and see the toys *grin*

Finally managed to get down to writing again after a big gap of *gasp* almost 2 weeks. Was either too busy, too tired or too lazy to logon to blog. Alyssa just recovered from a stomach virus that made her have diarrhoea. Luckily it only lasted a few days, but poor Alexis is now having it. Hope she will be fine soon. That little gremblin have started speaking more words, like “进去”(when my father is going into the toilet), “吃”(her favourite word besides rolling her tongue to show that she wants to eat) and “拿”,“打开”and “鞋子”. She can also hum some of the Barney "clean up" song. It's really wonderful to see her able to say more and more words. My mom was saying that soon I wont have much peace when she really started talking. The kids will probably have more arguments.
Alyssa is very eager to go to school. Every morning she will pester me to "go to school" which is the study room. She wants me to pretend that I am the teacher and teach her things. I think she will enjoy school when it starts on the 21st this month. Few days back I got her a box of toy make up items like lipstick, comb, hair dryer etc. Before we went out that day, she started taking out all these toy cosmetics and started to pretend that she is applying the lipstick and powder. Even Alexis took the lipstick and pretend to apply. Philip was also amused by it and said that its because they got the "heow" genes from the mother. Of course, I admit I am vain, but I think being vain is a privilage given to women. So even though they really starts young, well, I have no objections.
Was looking through the tour packages to Bangkok of various agency and saw one I really like. Philip was also dying to go for a tour. He had been working really hard, almost everyday till 9pm and go back on saturdays too. Hopefully we can find a time that he can go with us and we are also able to make it since Alyssa is starting school and my tuition timing is rather erratic.
